In
1942 Cooke-Yarborough rejoined the TRE team, which by then had moved to
Malvern. He was reassigned to the
Radio Counter Measures Team (RCM), working for
Martin Ryle. Cooke-Yarborough then spent the next two years trying to develop
equipment which would receive, mark and deceive the enemy radar signals. The
RCM followed a process: meeting with the RAF chiefs; deciding what they needed
from the research unit; preparing a design brief; and then assessing how the
design brief could be made practical. This would lead to the output which was a
functioning device or piece of equipement: |
