Electric toaster, which was a godsend because you didn't have to stand there watching it. You just put it in and it popped up on its own, so you didn't have to stick around like you did with the gas - to make sure it didn't burn. That was really a godsend. I think after that even a coffee percolator, an electric one, was quite good because you didn't have to sit and watch that.

Well, the other one was filter, we still use that of course, don't they, the filter. I think originally you used to put it into a saucepan of boiling water and skim the top off or something, something like that before I was drinking coffee. Still if you use a filter, which makes very nice coffee, you've got to stand there to pour the boiling water on to the filter, through the filter, whereas with the electric perc you just plug it in - I think it tastes the same.
