Click here to listenHow did you deal with that (the pests?)

The first time was disastrous - somebody told me to use cigarette ends, to soak them in a jar for two to three days and then spray that on, and I had a climbing rose that was quite vigorous and I sprayed them with this mixture - neat, and I came round the next day and it had burned all the leaves off. And the person who told me said you only use about a tablespoon to a gallon - but it was too late.

Click here to listenYou said that you sprayed the roses, what did you use to spray?

Just a cheap hand spray - it was like a tube - I don't know if you get them now with a wooden handle. Front end was about an inch and a quarter in diameter with holes in it. You had a rubber plunger, you drew it up - you filled the syringe with water and pressed it, and got quite a good spray of water out.
