This was a flat bed printing press- The Finchley press published none and a half thousand papers a week and it went to press on Tuesday midday with half of the paper.

Now that ahh-shoong-doonk was every time a sheet of paper fed by a little old man with a huge pile of sheets, single sheets of paper, pushing them through an old flat bed machine. They were very very large sheets of paper. I think that they would on recollection have represented the size of four broadsheet pages.

It printed from midday on Tuesday till midday Wednesday one side of the paper so you would have perhaps page 1, page 3, page 5 and whatever the appropriate ones that married up with them on one side of the paper.
