Domestic Arrangements...

I do not know the domestic arrangements of the permanent staff but we slept in an almost empty guest house. "Pentou" There was no hot water in this building so we went to a another WAAF billet "Seventyfields" to wash and we ate at "Churchill House" about a 1/4 mile away across the town and to have a bath we went to the admin centre at "Forres" which had previously been a prep school and was in an entirely different part of the town. We were collected by transport from near the parish church to go on duty at Worth so a lot of the time was spent walking round the town.

Every Thursday evening a dance was held in the Grovenor Hotel which I think was also the officers mess, and was for RAF personnel only.
