Greta worked for the Midland Woodworking Company until she retired in 1973. After that she wanted something to do that was completely different, so she went to work at a dress shop.

Greta talks about working in a dress shop and explains that she did go back to work for MidWood for a few weeks, but did not enjoy it.

When Greta first started working for the company she payed into a pension scheme that was eventually taken over by Boulton and Paul of Norwich, when they took over the company. Greta stil receives money from her original pension every month!

Greta explains her MidWood Pension

During Greta's time, working for MidWood, they always had an active social club. When they were taken over the social scene gradually faded away. When Greta retired, she joined the committee of the Pensioners Association, and explains that even that doesn't exist anymore.
