Joyce Cann

Joyce was born in 1933 and lived in a bungalow on a "made-up road" in the Laindon Plotlands. Her father was born in the East End of London and was employed to scrub clean oil vats - an occupation that Joyce clearly remembers producing a great deal of dirty washing. Joyce's father later became a shoe repairer and then a gardener with the local council.
