Click here to listenI was born in Switzerland - and I grew up in Switzerland, so my very earliest memories were from that time. I can remember my Mother and the whole family - used to get involved in the washday - the big washday - it was once a month - and that was quite an event in that household.

And in the attic was the wash-house, and so everything had to be taken up on the day of the wash and the preparations before hand were quite extensive.
