Ronald
Sturt started his career as a Chemist just before the war, but "fled
the scene". He later became an accountancy assistant for about
ten years and then moved into what he calls his life long love-
librarianship. He later became a founder of the Talking Newspaper
Association in the UK.

Ronald Sturt set up
a new college of librarianship in Aberystwyth in Cardiganshire, where
he came across whilst on a study tour in Sweden a tape being reproduced
for blind people to listen to the news. He was intrigued by this concept
and set about planning how it could be introduced into the UK.
