At the newspaper in Finchley
where Peter worked, they had proof readers who would typeset the story.
Peter remembers being sent down by the chief reporter to get a proof,
Peter would speak to the overseer who usually told him that he was too
busy and Peter would have to pull a proof himself. To do this Peter would
just ink the type up and put it on the proofing press put a sheet of paper
over the top and proof it.
